Fans are speculating on the cosmetic enhancements Carrie Underwood may have had following her tragic accident.
Carrie Underwood was America’s Sweetheart when she won the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Since then, she has been the first country artist to debut in the Billboard Hot 100. However, in a recent Instagram post from a trip taken with her country hubs it’s not Carrie’s hit songs that fans are talking about. Commenters are calling out for the star to stop with the enhancements and embrace her natural beautiful self.
Fans worry that Underwood is joining the world of ‘unnatural beauty’
On September 14, Carrie shared a post to Instagram featuring her, her husband Mike Fisher, and a selection of their catch of the day.
These Fishers had been fishing in Montana as part of a recent outdoorsy trip and they proudly, grinning and gleaming, modeled their haul from the boat. Carrie donned in a gray hoodie and fishing waders is complemented by flawless make up.
Carrie captioned the series of images: “Had the BEST day today fly-fishing in Montana! Thanks to our epic guide, Jason, for the expertise! What a day!”
Rather than celebrating her fly-fishing success, fans were calling out the 41-year-old in the comments with some pretty fishy suggestions.
“Is it just me, or is Carrie not looking like Carrie lately?” Questioned one fan, while another in agreement said: “I think she is great, but all honesty I can’t recognize her. She is and always has been so naturally beautiful. So much surgery here and new teeth maybe ????”
The teeth seem to be a sticking point for fans who aren’t impressed by her pearly whites: “Ok all I see is her huge white dentures, wtf?”
“She needs to stop with all the facial and teeth enhancements. She was so beautiful before and didn’t need to join the world of ‘unnatural beauty,’” one fan suggested.
Even on a boat on a river in her comfy clothing, holding a dead fish like a guy in a dating profile, Carrie still looked stunning. Some fans were kind enough to jump to the Before He Cheats singer’s defense.
“I would NEVER look as good as those two if I was fishing.” One social media user added to the narrative. While another was just thrilled to see the star in her ‘natural habitat’: “How fun so exciting to see you with your husband doing an outing together, you work so hard both of you.”
Carrie underwent wrist surgery and facial stitches following accident
A deeper call for support was initiated by one commenter, who reminded those fishy-trolls that Carrie had previously had a “terrible accident” which lead to surgery “they didn’t choose to have.”
In a feminist calling, this same user asked others to “spread the love and positivity about women” and celebrate their full range of successes by not focusing “just on their appearance.” Bravo, Queen.
In November 2017, Underwood was walking her dogs when she tripped and fell. This resulted in surgery for a broken wrist along with forty to fifty stitches above her lip.
In an episode of The Bobby Bones podcast, the ABC star reflected on the accident: “I was taking the dogs out and I just, I tripped. There was one step and I didn’t let go of the leashes. Priorities! So that’s why my left hand’s fine. But I went to catch myself and I just missed a step.”
This accident took its toll on her physically and mentally, as the facial stitches imposed physical limitations and had an unexpected impact on her in-studio vocal performances.
Respect to Carrie for building herself back up again after this traumatizing experience.
