The People Democratic Party (PDP) has again restated that despite internal wrangling, it is now more united under the leadership of the acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum.
Governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed, stated this on Tuesday shortly before their expanded meeting in Abuja.
Mohammed, who chairs the Forum insisted that only agenda of the meeting is to chart a way forward and unify the party.
Aside the governors, the National Working Committee and members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) were also part of the meeting.
The BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, his secretary and former Governor of Kaduna state, Ahmed Markarfi, acting Chairman, Amb Damagum, the National Secretary, Senator Anyanwu as well as other stakeholders were at the meeting.
At the meeting, Mohammed stated further: “One main agenda of the meeting is to chart a way forward, unify our party under the leadership of Ambassador DA mag um and more importantly, avert the happenings of past occurrences.
“The PDP magic will come back. We will resist a one party state and provide Nigerians platform to actualize their aspirations.
“We will win in Ondo and rescue Nigeria from the maladministration of the ruling APC,” Mohammed added.
Earlier, after meeting with the NWC of the party, the chairman of the reconciliation committee, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, said, “we have been able to overcome the differences within the National Working Committee that has been causing the party some headache .
He said: “We thank God that we have been able to open up to ourselves and resolve to move on as a United National Working Committee which is what we needed for the progress of our party, the People’s Democratic Party.
“The issues resolved are the differences that have permitted the ranks and files of the National Working Committee.”
However, when asked when the party is likely to hold, Otinlola added: “
That wasn’t part of our discussion and I’m not in position to talk about NEC meeting, I’m the chairman National Reconciliation Committee, there were differences in the National Working Committee and that I have done and my job is finished.”
