Diddy And His Children's Plan To Follow In The Kardashians' Footsteps Have Been Canceled

After Sean “Diddy” Combs took the music world by storm, he became an icon. After all, in addition to the fans of Diddy’s music and his many businesses, many followers wanted to know about his celebrity friends and what it was like to work for him. Thanks to the interest in the second of those two topics, Diddy once starred in a reality show called I Want To Work For Diddy.

Years after that reality show ended, Diddy and his children were set to seemingly follow in The Kardashians’ footsteps. However, the disturbing allegations that Diddy is facing made the plans for his new reality show completely go away.

Diddy And His Family Were Going To Star In A Major Hulu Reality Show

In September 2023, The Hollywood Reporter updated an article that revealed the timeline of Diddy’s recent legal troubles. That timeline revealed that in November 2023, Cassie Ventura filed a disturbing lawsuit against Diddy that put his allegedly dark past in the spotlight.

As a part of Cassie’s lawsuit, she accused Diddy of a myriad of disturbing things including forcing himself on her, abuse, and harassment. The Hollywood Reporter’s article revealed that only one day after Cassie filed her lawsuit, Diddy settled it out of court for an undisclosed sum.

A week after Cassie filed her lawsuit, Diddy was sued by two more people who were also making terrible allegations against him. Roughly two weeks after Diddy was hit with the second and third lawsuits, it was revealed that he’d missed out on the chance to become a reality star again.

On December 13, 2023, Rolling Stone published an article that provided a major update on a project that was set to star Diddy and his family.

Throughout Diddy’s lengthy career, he has had roles in several different reality shows. Most notably, Diddy was the star of the reality shows
Making The Band
,
I Want To Work For Diddy
, and
The Four: Battle For Stardom
.

As Rolling Stone revealed, plans for Diddy and his children to star in a reality show had been scrapped.

According to Rolling Stone’s reporting, the planned reality show would have starred Diddy and all seven of his children.

With that in mind, the fact that the show was originally planned to be titled Diddy+7 is pretty genius.

If Diddy+7 had been fully produced, the plan was for it to air on Hulu. With that in mind, the most obvious comparison to make is that Diddy and his kids were following in the footsteps of The Kardashians.

After
Keeping Up With The Kardashians
aired on E! from 2007 until 2021, it seemed like the show would never end. However, the titular family walked away from E! and made a deal with Hulu to star in
The Kardashians,
which premiered in 2023 and has been a hit ever since.

After all, The Kardashians is the main reality show that has become associated with Hulu. The similarities don’t end there, as similar to The Kardashians, Diddy+7 was going to star a huge family with an extremely unique lifestyle.

Another interesting fact about Diddy+7 was that it was originally going to have another celebrity involved. For many people, it will be confusing for them to learn that James Corden was going to play a role in Diddy+7.

James Corden has produced many shows according to
IMDb
. For example, James has produced
The Late Late Show With James Corden
,
Game On!
,
Carpool Karaoke
,
Mammals
,
Drop The Mic
, and more.

As a part of Rolling Stone’s article, it was revealed that James was set to produce Diddy+7. James would have done that through his production company, Fulwell 73.

According to Rolling Stone’s article, plans for Diddy+7 were still in the early stages. However, the outlet stated that Diddy had already reportedly been spotted being followed by cameras.

A March 2023 Page Six article also cited an insider who provided them with a brief synopsis of what Diddy+7 was planned to become.

It’s going to profile the entre family. They all have businesses—even the kids—and it will feature everyone.

While that description sounds like it could have been turned into an interesting show, it seems extremely clear the show will never air. After all, none of the studios would want to have any association with the extremely disturbing things Diddy has been accused of.

One Of Diddy’s Recent Businesses Also Blew Up Following The Scandal

On Diddy’s website, combsglobal.com, there is a description of a business he created called Empower Global. “Empower Global is an immersive digital marketplace that allows consumers to discover, shop and explore the best Black-owned brands around the world.” Based on that description, it seems extremely obvious that Empower Global could have been a huge success.

Three days before Rolling Stone reported on the end of his planned reality show, the same outlet reported on Diddy’s business. According to Rolling Stone’s December 2023 article, Diddy’s business partners were running away from Empower Global after his scandals surfaced.

A total of 18 brands have confirmed to
Rolling Stone
that they have severed ties with the online marketplace for Black-owned businesses.

Needless to say, a company losing that many business partners in quick succession is more often than not going to destroy it. With that in mind, Empower Global seemed to be in a lot of trouble. After all, Rolling Stone published a very revealing quote from the leader of one of the companies that severed ties with Empower Global.

“This decision was made on the day that Casandra Ventura filed her lawsuit. We take the allegations against Mr. Combs very seriously and find such behavior abhorrent and intolerable. We believe in victims’ rights, and support victims in speaking their truth, even against the most powerful of people.”

Of course, with Diddy facing the potential prospect of spending a lot of time in prison, he likely doesn’t spend that much time worrying about Empower Global.
