Dan Orlovsky feels Cowboys are making another mistake by not pursuing Davante Adams

Davante Adams has finally entered the market since the Las Vegas Raiders began approaching the teams across the league with a trade offer. While teams such as the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Kansas City Chiefs vying for the star veteran, the Dallas Cowboys are strongly encouraged not miss this opportunity to acquire a player of Adams’ caliber.

Unfortunately, multiple reports revealed that Jerry Jones’ Cowboys are not interested in pursuing the three-time All-Pro wide receiver. During his recent appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Dan Orlovsky argued that the Cowboys are making another big mistake like losing Derrick Henry previously in the offseason, by not pursuing Adams.

Of course, it would be a mistake to not try and get Davante Adams, but it’s 2024– it’s the year of mistakes for the Dallas Cowboys. That’s kind of what this season has been. Not pursuing— it would be stupid. I don’t think he’s gonna go to Dallas. I don’t think he should go to Dallas… they are the third-best team in the division. So, it would be a mistake to not sit there and go, ‘Hall of Fame worthy receiver, us not adding him would be a detriment to our football team no doubt.’

Dan Orlovsky said on Wednesday

While not specifically advising Adams to join the Cowboys, Orlovsky criticized Dallas’ front office for repeatedly making mistakes since the offseason and failing to recognize them. He added that bringing in a Hall of Fame-caliber wide receiver would strengthen their offensive arsenal and improve their chances of ending the long-standing Super Bowl drought.

Davante Adams admits missing Aaron Rodgers amid ongoing trade rumors

The Cowboys might be missing a big opportunity, but the Jets sure will not. Their quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been convincing his former teammate, Adams, to join him in New York since the beginning of this year. But the latter always turned it down, reflecting his loyalty to Las Vegas. Until now.

Since the Raiders are ready to trade him, Adams admitted missing the quarterback and their days together in Green Bay. During his appearance on the Up & Adams podcast, Adams showered high praise on Rodgers amid the ongoing trade rumors.

Among all the teams negotiating with the Raiders, the Jets are considered the most likely to land the six-time Pro Bowler. Perhaps, the former Packers’ quarterback-receiver duo might reunite in New York before the trade deadline of November 5.
