Cam’ron claims he was offered the key to New York City after rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’ key was released…but he turned the city down and says he wants nothing to do with it.
“You know what’s crazy? This is word to everything I love,” he told co-host Ma$e. “Last month, they called me to see if I wanted the key to the city. I said, ‘I don’t want to be involved with nothing.””
Mayor Eric Adams revoked Diddy’s key to NYC less than three weeks after the video showing him brutally beating ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura went viral.
“I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. Our city has worked tirelessly to make sure survivors are heard and seen by our administration,” Adams wrote, in a letter dated June 4, adding that he was “deeply disturbed” by the footage.
Diddy is currently being housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, and prosecutors allege that he used his “power and prestige” to coerce women to participate in “Freak Offs” drugged up and against their will.
“They offered me that sh-t. They said, ‘Cam, you want the key to the city?’ I was like, ‘That ain’t really up my alley right now. I’m cool with the key to New York City, man,’” Cam added.
