Ye’s old home in Malibu was listed for sale in January with Selling Sunset’s O Group. Netflix fans are given a glimpse into the luxury real estate world of Jason Oppenheim and his twin brother, Brett Oppenheim on the show. But, it appears it’s not always money being made in the housing business as the rapper’s property had its price slashed earlier this year.
The all-new episodes of Selling Sunset feature mega mansions, one of which Jason Oppenheim says he can’t even afford. One property The Oppenheim Group still has as an active listing on their website is Kanye West‘s former Malibu Road property. The abode is super unique, but it doesn’t seem to be garnering a ton of attention.
Ye lists his house for sale
In January this year, Ye’s Malibu pad featuring jaw-dropping architectural design, went on the market.
Jason Oppenheim headed up the listing and the property went up for grabs for $53,000,000, per Zillow.
The $53,000,000 price point already marked a potential loss for Ye as he purchased the property two years prior for $57,000,000.
The Heartless rapper’s house was built in 2013 and boasts sea views from every room.
It was designed by Japanese architect, Tadao Ando.
The property’s address is 24844 Malibu Rd, Malibu, CA 90265.
Oppenheim listing is ‘pending sale’
While the original listing already pre-empted a loss for Ye, it turns out he’s set to lose millions as the home is now “pending sale,” per its Zillow listing.
The Malibu abode is showing as an “active listing” on The Oppenheim Group‘s website, but Zillow shows it’s “pending sale” as of August 1.
If the sale is to go through, the home will be sold for $39,000,000 – meaning Ye will suffer a loss of $18,000,000.
The rap star has a reported net worth of $400 million per Celebrity Net Worth, as of June this year, so hopefully the loss doesn’t cause too much of a hole in his pocket.
