The best advice I would give is to surround yourself with the right people; people you can trust, people you can talk to about anything. It’s so important to have someone you can talk through whatever’s going on.

Later, after clinching her maiden title at the US Open, the 26-year-old expressed gratitude for her team and said that she would not exist without them.

No matter which situation we were facing this season or last season, we were able to go through it and get all those beautiful trophies. [Their support] means everything. Without them I would not exist and as I always say, without me you guys wouldn't exist too, so you are welcome. You guys are my family. I could not imagine my tennis life and my personal life without you.

The Belarusian was well supported by her team. They all even sported temporary tiger tattoos to support her during the US Open final, where she defeated Jessica Pegula 7-5, 7-5 to win her third singles Major. With that win in New York, Sabalenka became the fifth player in the Open Era to win both the Australian Open and the US Open in the same year.
