Cast mates will be forced to choose a side in the latest season of TOWIE as a new relationship between Junaid and Joe blossoms, following his hurtful split from Harry.
Diehard TOWIE fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of series 34 after the trailer dropped and hinted to a key storyline being the relationship breakdown of Harry Derbridge and Joe Blackman. While cast members and fans are sad for the guys, especially for Harry who’s been opening up on Instagram recently, they are probably secretly pleased all the drama has been caught on camera for the ITVBe show. In episode two we already see sparks fly between the pair. Additionally, Junaid and his feelings for Joe leave other cast mates divided.
Joe confesses ‘I can’t do it anymore, I’m not happy.’
Rumors about the decline of Harry and Joe’s relationship have been circling the internet for a number of weeks, even though they were still technically dating in July.
Harry confirmed they were having major issues in an interview with Closer: “This is my real life. Our relationship is hanging by a very fine string, and that really makes me sad because we do love each other. We know there are things wrong, but we’re trying to make it work.”
Harry continued with an outpouring of love for his partner: “I love every bone of him, every hair, and I wouldn’t want him to change.”
However, he also reveals the deep-rooted problems they faced, saying: “I can’t be myself because I’m waiting for Joe to come into a scene and go, ‘I don’t want to be with you anymore’.”
It was revealed by Derbridge that him and Joe only filmed a couple of scenes together in the latest season. Fans deduced that some of this takes place in Cyprus, the location of the series opening.
“We filmed together twice – we actually had an argument and he stormed off.” Harry told the magazine outlet.
During the September 1 episode that argument was broadcast. In the scene, with sunny Cyprus in the background, Joe says, “I do love you Harry.” To which Harry retorts, “but you’re not showing it.”
Joe tells Harry he thinks they need some “space”, a “day or two apart”, confessing “I can’t do it anymore, I’m not happy.”
The rest of the cast can’t look away as they see their friends fighting. In the end Joe furiously walks away shouting expletives as he leaves.
Sitting with the girls, they tell a sobbing Harry that “some things aren’t meant to be” and to never stay with someone “for the wrong reasons.
Joe and Junaid will force TOWIE stars to ‘pick a side’
As if that wasn’t enough drama, apparently Joe has already moved on with co-star Junaid Ahmed just two weeks after the pair split. This has caused backlash from fellow TOWIE star Roman Hackett.
Apparently this new romance also started to blossom in Cyprus, Hackett opened up to The Sun. Though the relationships “didn’t overlap” according to the cast mate, he confided “Harry asked Junaid to look after Joe when they were not talking.” And added, “He looked after him literally.”
Though Roman admits to understanding that Junaid had feelings for Joe and wanted to act on them, he also adds the situation is “wrong” and Junaid was “Harry’s close mate”.
Roman doesn’t seem to think much of the new pairing stating that he thinks Joe is only in the relationship to spite his ex.
“I think from Junaid’s side he has feelings, from Joe’s side, I feel like Joe might do it to make Harry feel like ‘this is what you could have had Harry’.”
Joe and Junaid have been spending time together around Essex and sharing matching snaps on Instagram from their evenings out. Not wanting to watch this relationship develop, Harry has unfollowed them both.
“They have been spotted on dates around Essex and staying at each others, so it’s only a matter of time before things erupt with Harry.” A source told the Sun, the drama of which will play out for viewers as the season continues.
In the event of a big bust up, fans will be divided and cast members forced to choose a side. “It’s very out the blue and frankly shocking to most of them,” added the source.
