Speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly, Victor Oko Jumbo, has hailed the Khana local government area caretaker Committee chairman, Amb Marvin Yobana, for prioritising the needs of the people.
Jumbo gave the commendation Friday while commissioning the Bori Police Station remodelled by the Yobana-led administration in Bori, the Khana traditional headquarters of Ogoni people.
“l am not here to blow the trumpet of Amb Marvin Yobana, but commending him for his loyalty and commitment to the priority needs and security of his people in the Khana LGA,” Jumbo said.
The speaker appealed to the state Police Command to maintain professionalism in the discharge of their duties “especially as October 5, 2024, local government area general election draws close.”
In his remarks, Yobana said his administration would continue to prioritise the needs and security of the people in Khana LGA.
“My administration will continue to focus more on the protection of lives and property of the people of Khana LGA. I have always said that the Sim Fubara’s government is the Simplified government in the sense that it has simplified governance to the grass roots.
“In this government, we see the people as our own and we go for the needs and welfare of the people and that is what Sim Fubara stands for,” he said.
Also speaking, the Divisional Police Officer of the Bori Police Station, CSP Okanlawon Olufemi, expressed gratitude to the Khana LGA CTC chairman and his team’s kind gestures, noting that the renovation of the police station had given a face lift to the station.
