Erling Haaland returned to his beastly best scoring back-to-back hattricks in the Premier League just ahead of the international break. It goes without saying that the Norwegian marksman is an unstoppable force in the footballing circuit currently and the rumors had it that the Manchester City striker was about to put pen to paper for a new indenture at the Etihad.
According to Marca, Erling Haaland will soon be signing a new contract which extend his residence at Manchester City. As the report goes, it also states that the new contract is going to make Haaland the player with the biggest purse in the Premier League. His current wages are £375,000 per week, second to Kevin de Bruyne who is first on the list with the earning of £4,00,000.
But then this new contract for Haaland has something for everyone in it. Apart from the exorbitant amount, it also has a release clause which means Real Madrid can go after him later. Even though the amount for the release clause is unknown, yet it can be triggered. Manchester City released Haaland’s trigger clause of £51million two years ago when they landed him from Manchester City.
Erling Haaland has been an absolute monster in front of the goal, scoring at will in recent times. He hogged the limelight donning the Borussia Dortmund threads, hammering 62 goals from 67 matches while for Manchester City, he has been a part of two seasons and from the 69 matches, he has scored 70 goals.

Manchester City has found themselves in the midst of some serious trouble with 115 charges being brought against them. Despite the overwhelming numbers, there have been no action taken against the Cityzens. They appealed to the court as well, asking to overturn the allegations. Despite precarity reigning supreme, Brighton chairman, Tony Bloom has stated that the hearing for Manchester City may soon be due.
Each club, legally, are able to do that. I don’t think it’s great for the reputation of the Premier League, but these things happen. We have to see how the legal process develops.
