Cristiano Ronaldo has shared the dressing room with some of the best players in Europe throughout his career. Real Madrid were lucky to have both Ronaldo and Karim Benzema for nine years at the club, as the duo led Los Blancos to glory both domestically and in Europe. From La Liga titles to Champions Leagues and individual accolades, the two defined an era at the club alongside Gareth Bale.
Ronaldo recently uploaded a video with former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel UR Cristiano. The Al-Nassr forward broke several records as his channel rapidly gained close to 60 million subscribers.
Ronaldo also joked about beating popular YouTuber MrBeast to have more subscribers. While in conversation with Ferdinand, Ronaldo was asked to pick between Benzema and Kylian Mbappe.
Surprisingly, the forward picked the Frenchman, who he has not shared the dressing room with. As for Benzema, the Al-Ittihad man joined Ronaldo as they lifted four Champions League titles.
Fans react to Cristiano Ronaldo picking Kylian Mbappe over Karim Benzema
Many found it surprising that Cristiano Ronaldo named Mbappe as a better player in comparison to Karim Benzema. A fan claimed that Ronaldo’s choice was obvious, given the fact that Benzema defended Messi in a previous interview. Another said that Mbappe was clearly a better player in comparison to the former Real Madrid man.
The arguments went on, as a fan found it weird that Cristiano Ronaldo picked Mbappe over someone who has assisted him the most number of times in his career. However, a few Ronaldo fans countered the same by claiming that there was no outrage when Benzema excluded the No.7 from his all-time XI. A fan also said that ‘hating’ the biggest Real Madrid legend for expressing his opinion was unfair.
Even though Ronaldo has missed out on the Saudi Pro League title to Benzema’s Al-Ittihad in his first season, his goal scoring numbers are still among the best in the world. After an exciting international break with Portugal, Ronaldo will return to action for Al-Nassr on Friday against Al-Ahli. Ronaldo recently made history by hitting the 900 goal mark against Croatia.
