COPAN lauds CDS, troops over elimination of bandit Sububu

The Conference of Patriotic Nigerians (COPAN) has lauded the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt.-Gen. Christopher Musa, and the gallant troops of the Nigerian military over elimination of notorious bandit, Halilu Sububu, who was terrorising Zamfara and environs. In a strongly worded press statement in Abuja Friday, the Conference of Patriotic Nigerians’ national coordinator, Barrister Uchenna Odieli, said the gallantry effort of the troops of the Nigeria Army, Air Force, Police and other security agencies that carried out air and ground onslaught which led to the killing of Sububu, a wanted armed bandit, is a step towards the right direction.

The statement read in part, “COPAN appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. CG Musa, whose supervisory presence made it a success. COPAN commended the outstanding bravery and exceptional service in eliminating the notorious bandit and many others threatening the peace and security of the affected northwestern states.

“This once again demonstrated the commitment, determination and dexterity of the CDS and the military in protecting lives and properties. The actions of the security forces have significantly improved the lives of our citizens and we are deeply grateful.

“We recognise your dedication, leadership and readiness to tackle anything inimical to our national security not without going through your rules of engagement.”

It read further, “Your exceptional leadership and strategic thinking led to the elimination of the notorious bandits thereby making the state and other adjoining ones safer places. Your tireless effort to combat banditry has yielded remarkable results. You are a shining example of excellence. Your bravery in the face of danger is a testimony to your unwavering commitment to protecting our citizens.

“Your success in neutralising the bandits’ threat is a significant milestone in our nation’s history. You have earned our deepest respect and confidence. Your selfless service and sacrifice has earned you a place among the heroes of our time. We honour your achievements.”
