Pastor Jamal Bryant recently invited Chrisean Rock for one of her first interviews following her release from jail. During their chat, they discussed a few topics, from what it was like to be behind bars to what Rock sees for her future.
The interview follows questions surrounding their recent link-up. Just days ago, a video circulated of Chrisean praying over his three daughters, Grace, Angel, and Adore — whom he co-parents with ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star Gizelle Bryant.

Chrisean Rock Opens Up About Her First Night In Jail
For context, Rock was first detained by marshals in June on a fugitive warrant from Oklahoma. In her conversation with Jamal Bryant Rock, she opened up about her first night in jail. At the time, she had arrived at the courthouse with her infant to support a hearing for the child’s father, Blueface. Photos of her detainment went viral, in addition to concerns about who would care for Chrisean Jesus with both his parents locked up.

Chrisean told the church leader that she kept her cool on night one.
“I was calm and I was at peace. I didn’t cry, I knew I had to take care of my responsibilities and obligations with my legal and I just asked God for that place to be a spiritual hospital because I felt like I was dragging the Holy Spirit everywhere I went. Doing the most, and the Holy Spirit was grieving and I didn’t have the strength to pull away from things, people, places and things.”
Rock remained jailed in Los Angeles until early August, when the state transfer occurred. About a month later, she was released and reunited with her son, Chrisean Jesus, days after his first birthday.

Rock Shares New Type Of Music She Wants To Record
After her release from jail, Rock told her followers she aspired to find “peace” in God’s word and walk in the path of obedience and purity.
She shared a similar answer in the newly released interview with Pastor Jamal Bryant. He asked her to share where she envisions herself in five years. After a pause, the mother of one replied, “Just walking straight in my purity.” The pastor followed up by asking what Rock’s biopic would be titled, to which she said, “God’s plan.”
One way she’s walking in purity seems to include walking away from drug use. Pastor Bryant and Rock also discussed her lack of appetite for past habits like smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol. She added that she doesn’t have an appetite for “sex out of marriage.”
“I don’t have an appetite for confusing things,” Chrisean Rock said. After Pastor Bryant asked her how long she’s felt done, she replied:
“I been done with all of it for a very really long time. But again, we’re all helpless. So as much as we think we can do this on our own…you don’t want the strength from this world, you want the strength from the word of God.”
In another teaser clip on Jamal’s podcast Instagram page, Rock shared some advice for women trying to enter the entertainment industry.
“You don’t have to change who you are, but you do have to convert. All the glory belongs to God. You choose music, do music for the Lord. If you do teaching, hopefully it’s Bible verses and you saving souls.”
It looks like the influencer is planning to take her own advice regarding music. She shared her desire to move away from recording “worldly music” in favor of gospel tunes, particularly “hood gospel.”
