Breece Hall brushes off Jets’ opening week struggles, vows to get better next week

After a terrible start to the season, New York Jets player Breece Hall has shrugged off it as an initial rough patch. He believes that it is not a tool to measure a team’s capabilities in any way.

A Christian McCaffrey-less San Francisco 49ers derailed the New York Jets to a humiliating loss in the first game since the return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Although Rodgers did an okay job, he also could have done better. The Jets gave away eight straight scoring drives to the opponents as they belted them 32-19 with Jake Moody scoring six field goals.

Despite this loss, Hall felt that this was no measure to compare teams. He added that Week 1 is not at all a big picture. It is an opportunity to understand the flaws in the squad, fix them, and become better as the season progresses.

I feel like the game one is always miscontrued because some teams win, some teams lose. And it could be team that, like I said, wins week one and does terrible week two or loses week one and really picks it up in week two. And there's teams that pick it up, just get better going through each game.

Breece Hall said to the reporters

He further pointed out that one needs to take constructive criticism, flush it, and get better as one moves on to the next game. According to analysis, the New York Jets have the fourth easiest path toward the postseason. Should Hall’s words turn true for the Jets, fans could see Rodgers going the long way as he nears the end of his career.

Hall had a mixed performance against the 49ers. He gained 93 total yards, including a touchdown, but also fumbled and averaged only 3.4 yards per carry.

Breece Hall wishes Braelon Allen gets some chances to play

Breece Hall wished that the 20-year-old Braelon Allen got more opportunities to play as the running back believes that Allen deserves the chance. After all, the decision lies with HC Robert Saleh who’s on fire after the losing record worsening.

Hall also feels that Allen could reduce his workload as a player given he gets more time and opportunity to play. Given Hall’s exclusive first-team reps in Week 1, it may be challenging for Allen to make a significant offensive contribution as a rookie. But, Hall could do much more for the forward with Allen in behind.

I can't wait for him to get some more opportunities to play, because he definitely deserves it for sure.

At just 20 years old, Braelon Allen made NFL history as the youngest player in the Super Bowl era to gain a yard. In his debut for the Jets against the 49ers, Allen had one carry for eight yards and caught one pass for nine yards.
