(Video) Dan Orlovsky gets into a heated debate with Harry Douglas over Kevin Stefanski’s credibility over the years as a coach

Kevin Stefanski pulled off an incredible escape with the Cleveland Browns in 2023, leading them to the playoffs even after three of his four starting quarterbacks ended up in the hospital. The NFL rewarded him with the Coach of the Year award.

However, unlike last time around, when he found help from veteran Joe Flacco, he will have to bet on $230 million man Deshaun Watson to lead the Browns. Watson will be one of the quarterbacks under the most pressure because, since bagging the money, the Pro Bowler has remained on the sidelines the majority of his time due to various injuries.

ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky backed Kevin Stefanski to work his magic with Watson and replicate last season’s results. However, Orlovsky’s colleague Harry Douglas claimed he had more faith in the Browns’ AFC North rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and head coach Mike Tomlin to do better than them.

Douglas questioned Orlovsky about whom he trusted more between Stefanski and Tomlin, and the former NFL quarterback picked the Browns head coach.

Kevin Stefanski’s a two time Coach of the Year.

Dan Orlovsky sounded agitated with the question

An animated Douglas replied in a similar tone.

So what?! He hasn't won a daggone thing, Dan!... Who do you trust more, Stefanski or Mike Tomlin? Don't tell me he's a two-time Coach of the Year. He hasn't won a doggone playoff game. Answer the question.

Harry Douglas shouted

Orlovsky conceded and said he trusted both coaches equally.

Kevin Stefanski addressed the Browns quarterback situation

The Browns did not renew 2023 Comeback Player of the Year recipient Joe Flacco’s contract, and he joined the Colts. Instead, they brought in free agent Jameis Winston, who was on the Saints team last season and started their recent pre-season loss to the Green Bay Packers during the weekend.

Kevin Stefanski provided an update on whether the Browns fans will see Watson in action in their remaining two games. According to Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot, Stefanski will give Winston and third-string Dorian Thompson-Robinson more snaps in Game 2 against the Minnesota Vikings. As for Watson, he will take part in the final pre-season game against the Seattle Seahawks.

If I'm playing, I'm on the field; I got to go out there and perform. So anytime I'm on that field, I'm competing, and if I play, then I play. If not, then I support my teammates.

Deshuan Watson said, per the Record-Courier

Despite the Coach of the Year award, Kevin Stefanski will be in the hot seat. USA Today voted him as the 5th worst coach in the league and predicted being sacked before the season ended.
