Garcelle Beauvais is looking for love. She downloaded a $399 a week dating app, which she ended up “accidentally” spending a total of $6,000 on, thanks to Bethenny Frankel’s recommendation.
Bethenny Frankel advised Garcelle to join the same dating app she was on two years ago, filled with CEOs and business owners. She called the app’s users the “top guys” – which got Garcelle Beauvais interested.
Garcelle Beauvais wastes $6K on app
Garcelle Beauvais accidentally wasted $6,000 on a dating app, as told to SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “I wanted to throw up. I couldn’t believe it. I never checked out,” she revealed.
Although dating apps “aren’t really her thing,” Garcelle decided to go for it, revealing it cost her $399 a week. She said, “These are high-end guys, so you’ve gotta pay for it, so I go on it and I look.”
“And I’m like, ‘Hmm. It’s not really my type of thing,’ so I get off it,” she added – or so Garcelle thought. She’s now single, but has famous exes including Michael Jordan, Eddie Murphy, and Will Smith.
She was married twice: first to Daniel Saunders from 1991 to 2000; and then to Michael Nilon from 2001 to 2011. Garcelle shares her son, Oliver, with Daniel, who was born in 1991.
‘High end’ app used by co-star
Bethenny Frankel is to thank for Garcelle joining a dating app. Garcelle said, ” A couple years ago, [Bethenny] said to me, “You should really go on the apps. I have one. It’s really like CEOs, the top guys.’”
“She goes, ‘You should go on it,’ and I go, ‘Ah, I don’t know.’ She goes, ‘No, trust me,’ and I said, ‘Okay, I’ll go on it,’ and so a week later I’m like, ‘You know what? I should do it,’ so I go on it,” Garcelle added.
RHOBH star didn’t get one date
Garcelle may have spent $6K of her hard-earned money on the app, but she didn’t go on a single date. Eight months after she first signed up, the RHOBH star had to ask her son how to get off the app.
She said, “I’m on my app stuff and my son Jax comes down and I go, “Hey Jax. There’s a particular app that I want to get off of. How do I do it?” and he comes, he grabs my phone.”
“He goes, “Mom, why do you have all these things that you’re paying for?” He goes, “A dating app?” I go, “No, I’m not on a dating app,” Garcelle added, as she had no idea she was still on the app.
