With a generator on the blink and weather conditions enough to make anyone pack up and go home, Kris Kelly had his work cut out during Bering Sea Gold. The Discovery Channel star showed his unwavering strength as he told cameras he “won’t go down without a fight.”
Kris Kelly has been appearing on reality TV for the past 10 years. But, the stardom of Bering Sea Gold hasn’t softened him. The gold miner does whatever it takes to haul ore from the ocean and thankfully his hard work pays off during the show as he rakes in a huge sum of cash.

The Discovery Channel star is dealing with a dodgy generator and rising swells while out at sea.
Refusing to back down, Kris tells the cameras: “We’ve still got a long way to go… I don’t want anybody to say that Kris Kelly went down without a fight… this generator keeps shutting down, then we’ve got to start it back up again.”
Kris says he’s losing time and “momentum,” but wants to “keep rolling the dice.”
The Bering Sea Gold star says: “My choices are simple, go home and it means giving up or keep running and make gold and I really need gold.”
Kris’ hard work pays off
Discovery Channel star Kris proves his passion as he gets an inkling he’s in an area where gold can be found. He shouts: “I’m not leaving without my gold.”
The TV star fires the generator up again and tells of how it ran for 16 minutes before cutting out. The generator then runs for half an hour and Kris says: “I think it’s getting better.”
Kris’ team member, Joe, tells him: “Something’s gotta give, man,” before things get worse. A high-pressure line “springs a leak.”
The captain remains calm and says: “We’re not fixing a thing,” before throwing two mats over the leak. He adds: “…it really is getting choppy, yeah I’m a little worried.”
Despite Kris’ best efforts to keep mining, his investor, Kevin, comes out to warn him about the treacherous weather conditions coming.
The operation is shut down and Kris tells the cameras: “…most captains would’ve bailed, but not me, not this season.”
The captain tried his best but rounded off the season disappointed as he raked in 28.5 ounces of gold – valued at aroun $53,000. His aim was 75 ounces.
