This offseason, the Dallas Cowboys’ approach to handling the contract situations of their star players has left many puzzled. With apparent delays and one player holding out since the offseason program, some suggest that their time in Dallas may be coming to an end.
While quarterback Dak Prescott has decided to handle things with patience, which is why he decided to give full participation in the practice sessions, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been taking an entirely different approach. Therefore, his potential departure has seemingly became more evident, especially after owner Jerry Jones claimed that sorting his extension was not a matter of urgency.
Seeing the wide receiver market flourish while still struggling to secure a deserving contract despite posting a Pro Bowl season with 1,749 yards, 135 catches, and 12 touchdowns, CeeDee Lamb is growing frustrated with his team. Judging from his recent social media activity, the star wideout is certainly hinting at a possible exit.
First, Lamb retweeted the post about Jones’ contract comment with a one-word caption, “lol.” Shortly after this, fans spotted that the three-time Pro Bowler no longer has “America’s Team” written in his X bio description.
Since the Cowboys removed the wideout from the active roster, it’s clear that Lamb no longer feels like part of the organization. Losing a player of Lamb’s caliber, followed by the potential exit of Prescott, would significantly weaken the Cowboys’ offensive line and make it even harder to end their Super Bowl drought.
Darius Slay backs CeeDee Lamb amid contract controversy
Amid the contract drama with the Cowboys, their star wideout seems to be getting great support in the league. Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay recently came in his support after Jones’ blunt statement, asserting that Lamb does not deserve to be treated this way.

In addition to Slay, the Pro Bowler receiver also has the support of his teammates, mainly Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons, who reposted Lamb’s reaction to Jones’ comments. The star quarterback claimed he certainly feels an urgency to have his best offensive weapon on the team.
