“Not drinking water for a week,” WWE Hall of Famer reveals John Cena’s BIZZARE diet early in his career

John Cena has accomplished a lot in his 20+ years of career and has won numerous championships. His hard work and passion allowed him to stay in peak shape for as long as he could. However, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry revealed The Leader of the Cenation followed a bizarre diet to maintain his shape early in his career.

While speaking in an interview with Denise Salcedo, the WWE Hall of Famer shared a story about John Cena. He mentioned that, in his earlier days, The Doctor of Thuganomics followed a diet to maintain a lean body. Mark Henry further revealed that, for a week, Cena drank only Diet Mountain Dew instead of water. When the World’s Strongest Man advised him to drink more water, Cena had an amusing response.

MARK HENRY SAYS JOHN CENA ONLY DRANK DIET MOUNTAIN DEW FOR A WEEK

Big Match John declined to take his advice and stated that there was a risk of peeing if he drank water. Henry admitted to teasing him to this day about his daring dieting plans every time they met. The Hall of Famer also added that Cena finally admitted he was ‘young’ and ‘stupid’ and didn’t know what he was doing.

I found out that, during his diet, i don't know if he was getting ready for the bodybuilding show, or he just liked to be lean... he was not drinking water for a week. The only thing he drank, was diet mountain dew. I was shocked, I was like, 'man you need to drink some water man.' The human body does not work on diet mountain dew.

This year 2025 is gonna be a special year for John Cena. He is not the type to do things small. If you've seen anything John's ever done in WWE... you know that John is larger than life and he is a big personality. I hope I can get back in the ring with him at least one more time before he hangs'em up.
