Neymar Jr. reveals that he wanted to ‘give up’ as he recovers from gruesome injury suffered in 2023

Brazilian star Neymar Jr. recently revealed that he wanted to ‘give up’ during his recovery from the devastating injury that he suffered back in 2023. The forward sustained the injury during a match for Brazil against Uruguay last year.

Neymar Jr. has faced numerous injury issues throughout his career, which have disrupted his progress at crucial junctures. Most recently, the Brazilian forward has been sidelined since October after tearing his ACL and meniscus while on international duty. This injury caused him to miss the 2024 Copa America with Brazil, and he is still in recovery following the severe surgery.

The 32-year-old forward frequently shared his emotional challenges during his injury recovery on social media. In a recent Instagram post, the former Barcelona player discussed his recovery journey, revealing that he experienced moments of despair and felt like giving up at times. Despite these setbacks, Neymar conveyed his determination and resilience, highlighting his faith as a source of strength. He also promised to keep fighting until he regains full fitness.

After I suffered this injury, there are days that are difficult, there are days that I want to give up. It's hard to go through all of this... But, we will continue fighting every day.

However, Neymar might be nearing the end of his injury recovery, with fans and Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus expecting him to return in September. The Saudi PL side hopes the forward will join them in their title defense next season.

Premier League legend encourages Chelsea to sign Brazilian star Neymar Jr.

Former Liverpool player and EPL legend Michael Owen recently suggested that Chelsea should sign Brazilian star Neymar Jr. According to Owen, the 32-year-old forward would be an ideal addition to the struggling Blues’ attack.

The former Real Madrid legend believes that the Al-Hilal forward could be a potential asset to the EPL. While acknowledging the Brazilian’s high transfer fee and wage demands, Owen suggested Chelsea as a likely destination due to the club’s history of big-name signings and London’s appeal to high-profile players.

I'd say that in the Premier League that Chelsea would be the most likely, I think he'd love to go to a club like that.

Additionally, Owen highlighted the former PSG star’s exceptional technical abilities and skills, which could greatly boost the Blues’ attack. He added that Neymar’s presence on the pitch could create more space for his teammates.
