The 27-year-old has scored 23 goals and set up another ten during his time at the club. He is known for his electric pace, close control and ability to conjure up chances on command.

It is understood that Manchester City have struck up a shocking deal with the player, which will see him join the Cityzens on a five-year deal. The Colombian recently reached the final of the Copa America and has also been impressive for Liverpool in his first game since the break. Besides Liverpool, FC Barcelona have also expressed their interest in signing the winger.

FC Barcelona set sights on Luis Diaz after Nico Williams deal in jeopardy

It is no secret that Barcelona are keen on signing Euro 2024 hero Nico Williams. The Athletic Club star has however, made the difficult decision of ‘staying’ with his current club following their decision to hand him the No.10 among other reasons. As per reports, Joan Laporta and co. have identified the Colombian as a potential option instead of Williams.

Even though City remain frontrunners to snatch the player, Barcelona may also have a significant chance of bringing Diaz home. Besides Diaz, Barcelona are also considering the option of going for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman. The Blaugrana recently missed their first chance to lift silverware in the 2024/25 season after losing 3-0 to AS Monaco in the Joan Gamper.

Another bit of information that solidifies Barcelona’s interest is that the Liverpool man is available for the same price Barcelona were willing to offer for Williams. The former’s asking price is €58 million, whereas Barcelona were ready to pay €62 million for the Athletic Club man.
