JUST IN: APC candidate passes away days before local govt election in Jigawa

Yahuza Umar Labbo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming Local Government election in Kirikasamma Local Government Area, Jigawa State, has passed away.

The state Chairman of the APC, Aminu Gumel, confirmed the tragic news on Wednesday.

Umar Labbo, aged 55, died after a brief illness just days before the scheduled local government election. He was expected to be a leading candidate in the election.

The late politician is survived by three wives and fifteen children. His death comes as a blow to the Jigawa State APC, which has already faced challenges, including a recent fire that gutted the party’s headquarters in the state.

Reacting, Governor Umar Namadi expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and the Muslim community, offering prayers for the deceased.

He prayed to Almighty Allah for eternal peace for Umar Labbo and strength for his family to bear the loss.
