In Real Housewives Of New Jersey land, Teresa Giudice’s husband Louie Ruelas has been a near constant topic of fan outrage, which made an Instagram post about him by Teresa’s ex-husband Joe Giudice so shocking.

We don’t even have to go back further than August to find at least two massive controversies involving Louie and RHONJ, and one of the controversies involved Joe Giudice’s daughters with ex-wife Teresa.

Earlier in August, Luis generated an avalanche of headlines after he told Teresa that he hoped cast mate Margaret Josephs’ son would “suffer” during an off-the-wall, absolutely chaotic RHONJ finale.

Not long after that, Louie whipped out an Instagram Story-based apology, one which did not sound in any way contrite, and it had a major “I’m sorry I got called out for it” vibe:

“For the last year Margaret kept putting this narrative out there that I called her son at work and I have to deal with it knowing I am being lied on.”

Andy Cohen himself publicly disavowed Luis’ comments, calling the scene the “darkest moment” of the finale.

On August 6 – two days after Louie’s comments about Margaret Josephs’ son aired – Teresa featured Louie on her podcast Turning The Tables, a move fans suspected was timed to offset anticipated finale-related backlash.

If that truly was Teresa and Luis’ intent, it backfired after Ruelas spoke about encouraging the Giudice girls to “wear thongs” and “short skirts.”

Unsurprisingly, Louie’s remarks went instantly viral, and social media users were particularly interested in how Joe Giudice felt about Ruelas — and now we know.

Joe Giudice Answered Fans’ Questions About Louie Ruelas

When fans pointed to Joe Giudice during the “thong comment” brouhaha, it was typically assumed he’d be bothered by what Teresa’s new husband said.

According to RealityBlurb!, it looked like Joe’s statement was part of an earlier conversation on Instagram (later shared on Reddit), where another user said:

Joe you need to comment on that creeps [sic] remark about not his, but your daughters[.]

In response, Joe initially replied:

“[Luis Ruelas] comes off pretty weird just didn’t come across well he’s actually not a bad person I met him a few times[.]”

When screenshots were shared to Reddit, they were labeled as Joe’s response to Louie’s thong comments, and that post appears to have prompted Giudice’s statement on August 12.

Like Louie, Joe decided to address questions about his ex-wife’s new husband in the form of an Instagram Story, one which expired after 24 hours.

But screenshots of Giudice’s post were captured, and it began:

“I don’t know why everyone has to take everything out of context. I know there are a lot of stories out there saying I commented badly on Louie.

“I’ve spent time with Louie, and I want to say I would never say anything wrong about him.”

Fans clearly expected Joe Giudice to be bothered by what Louie said about the Giudice girls and “thongs,” but he didn’t appear to be:

“Louie is a great guy and very good to my daughters. My daughters are very fortunate to have him in their lives.

“I’m grateful for that. That’s all I have to say. Enough with this BS.”

Commenters and Bravo fans didn’t exactly buy what Joe was selling, and one speculated that Teresa had a hand in the statement, adding that they “can’t imagine [Joe Giudice] being ok with this.”

Another skeptical viewer remarked: “We’ve heard Joe speak for years. He 100% did NOT write this. 😂.”

Even if Joe Giudice’s Instagram post about Louie was sincere and written by him, it doesn’t explain why he also said Ruelas “comes off pretty weird,” and “just didn’t come across well.”
