“He’s trying to stay friends with him,” Terence Crawford calls out Eddie Hearn for saying Canelo Alvarez helped promote his fight

Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford had a successful fight night last weekend after defeating Eddie Hearn’s boxer, Israil Madrimov. However, following there is still some unattended beef between Crawford and the Matchroom boss. Interestingly, Mexican boxing star Canelo Alvarez is also a part of this saga.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn recently attended the first press conference for the Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga fight card. However, he was also captured having an interesting exchange with the Mexican boxing star. Crawford has taken issue with this and slammed Eddie Hearn for lying about using Alvarez’s name to promote their fight.

He's trying to stay friends with him, but it's disrespectful to me. Any time they gave me any question about Canelo I shut it down. So, for him to say we had to use his name to sell the fight is disrespect.

This is not the first time that Hearn and Bud have had a beef against each other. Interestingly, a few days before the Madrimov fight, they had a verbal altercation. However, that brief altercation did not ruin Crawford’s 154 lbs debut, where he defeated Israil Madrimov. Following that, several questions were raised about Crawford’s next potential opponent.

As for the American fighter, he has clearly mentioned his wish to take on the Mexican boxing star Canelo Alvarez. Moreover, after defeating an opponent of a higher weight class, Bud is riding high on confidence. Crawford also believes that he might threaten Alvarez’s legacy in boxing.

Terence Crawford believes he is a threat to Canelo Alvarez

The boxing world was eager to witness a fight between two of the top boxers in the world, Crawford and Canelo. Even Saudi Delegate Turki Alalshikh at times, has mentioned his wish to see them fight. However, Alalshikh suddenly shut down the buzz of that fight. The Saudi Delegate also revealed the reason behind it.

Per Alalshikh, Alvarez has made high demands for the Crawford fight. Not only that, the Mexican boxer has also demanded over a hundred million to fight his long-awaited rival and compatriot David Benavidez. After hearing that news, Crawford blasted Canelo in a recent episode of Porter Way Podcast.

He (Canelo Alvarez) said I’m easy work. If I was easy work, then you would take all that money. But still, he wants $150 million to fight me. That just lets me know I’m a threat to him. I’m a threat to him, and I’m a threat to his legacy.

Now, considering Canelo’s perspective, the Mexican boxer received a lot of criticism for choosing Berlanga as his next opponent. Now, an Alvarez vs. Crawford matchup only materializes if the Mexican superstar wants it to. Despite Crawford feeling he can overcome Alvarez, many feel a matchup against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis or Teofimo Lopez remains more likely.
