“Each one has been uniquely painful,” White Sox loses 21 straight games, surpasses MLB record for longest losing streak ever

Chicago White Sox may have failed to score their spot for the playoffs, but they managed to surpass the worst possible record on Monday night by losing 21st straight games. They now hold the MLB’s longest record losing streak ever, with their 5-1 loss against Oakland Athletics.

The White Sox players failed to hold onto their spot, and their star Tim Anderson failed to stand back up again after last year’s epic fight with Cleveland Guardians Jose Ramirez. Following their continuous losing streak, an old video popped up on social media once again, featuring the iconic UFC/WWE fight between the two players.

The incident sent shockwaves throughout the MLB community, so much so that many even got customized T-shirts with the print, “Down goes Anderson”. The incident became quite ironic as Jose Ramirez rose up to be a star baseball player, while Tim Anderson’s career started to crumble. It was even reported that approximately 20 seconds after Anderson fell to the ground, the customized T-shirt was available for purchase.

Earlier, the White Sox even lost to the Minnesota Twins by a 13-7 stinking margin, which only boosted the former to go downhill. They became the first team since the 1988 Baltimore Orioles to do so.

The Chicago White Sox despite their losing streak have not given up on any of the future games. According to them, they are learning and trying not to repeat such mistakes, and move on from what’s already happened.

Team manager Pedro Grifol says, they talk about the results every day and “everybody knows what it is.” It’s already 21 games in a row now and “it sucks”. He added, “Each one has been uniquely painful.”

It’s not fun. It’s painful. It hurts…It’s not for lack of effort. Nobody wants to come out here and lose, so we’ve just got to put a good game together and put this behind us.

Outfielder Corey Julks commented saying, “You just try to turn the page”. There are still a couple more games remaining in the season and the fans will be keeping an eye on the team’s performance. They last won a game back on July 10, making it nearly a month to do so.
