Executive producer Rich Meehan isn’t surprised by the conspiracy theories swirling around Angela’s gameplay.

“She’s been so fun to watch, so unexpected. With all those things, I don’t necessarily blame people for wondering, because it’s been surprising and shocking along the way,” he told Deadline in an interview published on Tuesday, August 13.

He couldn’t help but laugh at the idea that Angela, 50, was planted by the show’s producers to spice things up, adding, “It is always funny, the conspiracy theories that are out there.”

Allison Grodner, another executive producer, jumped into the mix, assuring fans that while Angela’s behavior has certainly thrown everyone for a loop, she wasn’t placed in the game by the production team with the intention of stirring the pot—though Grodner did cheekily admit it would’ve been a “good idea.”

So, what’s really going on with Angela Murray? Her arrival on Big Brother’s 26th season has sparked a frenzy among fans, especially after clips resurfaced showing her on other CBS shows like The Price Is Right and Dr. Phil. “There are a ton of shows, but I don’t think because she was on The Price is Right and in a Dr. Phil episode makes her necessarily an actor,” Allisn explained, dismissing the idea that Angela’s previous TV appearances were anything more than coincidences.

Rich also pointed out that Angela’s past on television didn’t involve any “competition reality” shows, which he was quick to note are “very different from a fun game show.”
