Intentionally walking off the New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has recently become the trend of the 2024 season. He’s been walked for the 6th time in eight games and 13th in the season, yet recorded his 42nd HR for the victory against Texas Rangers.
The team upset the Rangers with an 8-7 record in a thrilling match on Sunday. Other than Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Juan Soto’s clutch performance boosted the team to victory. Despite the Rangers walking Judge, he managed to blast off a home run, following Soto’s 30th HR of the season.
Aaron Judge is currently on his way to join Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire’s record for having 60-plus home run seasons, considering the captain continues his reign. Following the win, he said,
It was a win. It was another good one. I’m happy to win the series and get back the winning ways.Aaron Judge as per Bill Ladson of MLB.com.

Stanton replied Judge’s intentional walk was “part of the game” and “you have some with it.” He praised Judge calling him “an all-time talent”, and noted he’ll try to do better so this scenario doesn’t happen so often.

Soto similarly said, “He is such an incredible hitter” and witnessing Judge hit HRs is a sight worth seeing. So far this season, the captain has hit 42 home runs in 119 games.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy feels dejected after losing to Yankees
The New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers game ended with the latter going home after an 8-7 defeat. Yanks’ latest win marks the team’s 10 wins in their last 14 games, a better outcome considering their slump days in July.
With this momentum, they have captured their top spot within the American League East, tying the Baltimore Orioles with a score of 70-49. On the other hand, the Rangers have now lost 11 of their last 15 games.

The Yankees got back from their slumping days after acquiring Jazz Chisholm Jr. Getting back their offensive power, helped the other players like Soto, Judge, and rest to get back on their feet and try harder again.
Aaron Boone admitted that there are times when “I take him (Aaron Judge) for granted”. “His greatness” that he’s able to see on the field every day “is remarkable.”
