“Yet to be contacted” – Cyriel Dessers rumoured move to Serie A side debunked

Super Eagles and Rangers striker, Cyriel Kolawole Dessers, has been linked with a move to Serie A club, Cagrliari, but there are no official contacts, reports.

The 29-year-old moved to Rangers from Cremonese last summer but blew hot and cold with the Scotland-based side. Despite scoring 22 goals in over 50 games, the Nigerian striker was guilty of scuffing chances and could have had a lot more goals if he’d been more clinical.

Philipp Clemente’s side narrowly missed out on the domestic double to their rivals, Celtic. Dessers referred to the dressing room atmosphere after the League Cup final as “loom”.

PAOK Thessaloniki have been interested in the strikers’ services, and the former Genk striker has handed in a transfer request, as earlier reported by

There have also been reports of the Belgium-born striker being linked to the Cagliari side of the Serie A. As per Record Sport, the Scottish record champions are yet to be contacted by the Serie A outfit regarding a possible move for Dessers.

As per Rangers News, Rangers are delving into the transfer market in search of a striker, regardless of Dessers’ future at the club. Fabio Silva’s loan spell at the club has ended, and Danilo cannot be trusted after spending most of last season on the sidelines due to injuries.

Dessers scored in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Ghana in March under Finidi George and is back in pre-season training with Rangers after recovering from his ankle injury.
