Official: Kano Pillars part ways with Maikaba

Coach Abdu Maikaba has been eased out of hometown club Kano Pillars after the NPFL club announced his position vacant.

Last month, Maikaba, who won the NPFL with Akwa United in 2021, was suspended indefinitely after scathing comments against the Pillars management.

Former Pillars stars Ahmed Yaro Yaro and Jangora Ahmed were put in temporary charge of the team to the end of the season.

The four-time NPFL champions finished 10th in the NPFL with 52 points from 38 matches and were ousted by Abia Warriors in the semifinal of the President Federation Cup.
