Jennifer Garner Was ‘A Wreck’ For A Month Before Her Daughter’s Graduation

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s 18-year-old daughter has reached a huge milestone in every person’s life. She graduated from high school and is off to college. Like any other parent, Jennifer Garner has mixed feelings about it. While she’s happy and proud of her, seeing her daughter so grown and knowing she will be leaving home soon made her sad as well.

She has been very open about it during the whole process, including the actual graduation ceremony. The day Violet Affleck graduated, Jennifer Garner posted several pictures of herself crying and captioned it “Tell me you have a graduate without telling me you have a graduate. (bless our hearts).”

In an honest interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, she opened up about her feelings, especially those who were harder to deal with.

I was a wreck the whole month leading up to it,” she admitted. “Every awards ceremony, every final, everything, I just cried and cried at everything.”

As hard as it was for the mother to come to terms with her daughter growing up, she realized everything would be alright seeing her thrive at her graduation, and finally, it was only happy feelings. “Then, the day of [graduation] was so happy that there was nothing to be other than just so proud and happy.”

Jennifer Garner was on the show with her mother, Pat, and she opened up about her own experience as well.

“Oh, graduation was fine, but when they went to college, that’s another thing, and when Jennifer went, I just howled,” Pat said, adding that she felt Jennifer would “never come home again.” So, as difficult as the transition will be, Jennifer Garner is not alone in this.
