'Below Deck Sailing Yacht': Gary And Daisy's Season 4 Relationship Drama Might Force Some Filming Changes

  • Gary and Daisy’s feud at season 4’s reunion might shake things up in season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
  • Colin, absent from season 5, explored a flirty connection with Daisy, complicating their friendship and the love triangle.
  • Daisy has moved on from both Colin and Gary, settling the drama and focusing on growth as Season 5 approaches.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht has one of the craziest love triangles in the growing franchise, proving Sailing Yacht offers something different from others in the franchise. Fans of the spin-off were looking forward to Chief Engineer Colin MacRae and Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher’s relationship dynamic in season 4. Alas, that didn’t go as well as expected.

Many things influenced the relationship between Daisy and Colin, but one name was the most prominent: Gary King. Daisy, Colin, and Gary’s entanglement reached a boiling point that got the three in public arguments and name-calling, and at the end, estranged.

However, with Season 5 of Sailing Yacht already filmed and Colin not in the season, Daisy and Gary’s relationship drama will lead to some changes, especially after Gary confronted Daisy at Season 4’s reunion. The two haven’t responded to what fans will expect from season 5, but from Daisy’s side, she has moved on from the love triangle drama.

Gary And Daisy’s Fight At Season 4’s Reunion Could Affect Season 5

What started as an antagonistic relationship in Season 2 became something different when First Officer Gary King and Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher of Parsifal III put their differences behind them. The colleagues knew there was chemistry and heated tension between them and tentatively explored that but never made it through.

Yes, Gary and Daisy almost hooked up in the season 3 finale of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. After their almost hook-up at the end of season 3, they decided not to pursue things, choosing to stay friends.

About the incident, Daisy said: “I wouldn’t have slept with him. There are a few times during the season that the audience doesn’t see where I do get into bed with Gary and we talk. I talk with the boys, and he is very affectionate. He is a very welcoming person. I think I was very, very close to getting into bed with him.”

Looking like the chapter between them had closed and Daisy seemed to have moved on to Colin in season 4, but that wasn’t the case. Gary revealed that he and Daisy had a fling before season 4 of the reality show was filmed, putting a break in Colin and Daisy’s romance (along with many other issues).

At the reunion, Daisy was put on the spot with both Colin and Gary calling her out about the triangle the trio found themselves in. Gary also argued with Daisy over her changed stories in an unseen clip from the reunion.

  • Colin had claimed, “Daisy was in my hotel room days before filming.” To which Daisy responded with “We kissed each other a couple of times.”
  • However, Daisy’s obvious deflection made Gary call her out, saying, “Daisy, now you’re saying something different from what happened in the hotel room,” cutting Daisy off as he continued to speak.

Months later, Gary’s cryptic social media message: “It’s sad that people will do anything in their power to bring you down. It’s not about how you fall but how you get up. Luckily for me, the fall was into a sea of daisies,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself in a field of flowers. Daisy didn’t react to the comment.

Given the speculated shades and cryptic messages, Daisy and Gary may need space and this could affect the filming of season 5.

Filming had already ended in the summer of 2023 and fans were looking out for Parsifal III on Ibiza and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean.

However, with the sexual allegations brought against Gary King, the production team will need to figure out whether to edit him out, reduce his screen time, or leave his part uncut. Either way, season 5 will be affected by Daisy and Gary’s new dynamic.

The Crew Tries To Please An Insatiable Group Of Guests On ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’

Short one stew, Daisy struggles to accommodate the crew’s most pressing charter guests to date.

Colin Did Not Film Season 5 Of Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Colin cruised the Pacific Ocean while season 5 was supposedly being shot.

The explosive reunion, where Colin and Daisy throw rocks at each other, with Colin finding out Gary and Daisy hooked up before season 4 was filmed, is still fresh.

Colin and Daisy had a flirting kind of going on, but Daisy realized Colin had someone he was into, which looked like he was cheating. Colin denied he was cheating, but kept his relationships open.

At the reunion, their argument blew up, with the crew members calling each other names. After the fiasco at the reunion, Daisy and Colin unfollowed each other on social media and closed the chapter of their relationship.

Filming of the fifth season supposedly happened during the summer of 2023, but Colin will not appear in the fifth season.

Colin shared videos on his YouTube channel where he is seen sailing across the Pacific Ocean on his Catamaran. While some cast members of the reality show were already spotted in the Mediterranean, Colin cruising another ocean strongly signifies his absence.

However, Colin did attend BravoCon in November 2023, which meant he was not out like Luke Jones was fired in Below Deck Down And Under. Moreover, he did not mention if his missing in action from season 5 would only be a one-time thing, because fans would love him back, despite his fractured relationship with Daisy. To Colin, he is “absolutely done with love triangles.”

“Never again,” he said to

. “Last season was a lot.”

As for where he stands with Daisy, the Chief Engineer said he needs “a bit more time” to get back to where they once were as friends.

“The friendship has changed,” Colin said. “Mixing romance with friendship is always going to get messy. Our friendship is strained.”

Why Kate Won’t Be Returning To ‘Below Deck,’ Despite Being A Favorite

Below Deck’s Kate Chastain won’t be back in a skort as a Chief Stew any time soon, but that doesn’t mean she’s stepping away from Bravo.

Daisy Has Moved On, From Both Men

Daisy has no bad blood, but she keeps her space from Colin and Gary.

With the drama on the Parsifal III seemingly closed, Daisy is finally moving on from the love triangle.

Speaking to E!Online at BravoCon in November 2023, Daisy revealed she had “a lot of growing.”

“I have no bad blood with any of them. We’re leaving that chapter behind us,” she said about her love triangle with Colin and Gary.

She also shared that she was “very happy” living in London, especially after giving herself and Gary the needed space. Daisy did record Season 5 with Gary, but Colin was absent, which is understandable after she and Colin argued over Gary. The dynamic between Daisy and Gary will be different, and how she will manage this is yet to be seen.

Fans will have to wait until season 5 finally drops sometime in the summer of 2024.
