Yakuza 5

Yakuza 5 is an action-adventure video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3. It’s the fifth main entry in the Like a Dragon series. Originally released in Japan in December 2012, it became available globally on PlayStation Network in December 2015. The game received a remaster with improved features for PlayStation 4 in 2019 and later for Windows and Xbox One in 2021.

Unlike its predecessors, Yakuza 5 introduces a new game engine, showcasing five distinct settings in Japan and featuring five playable main characters. The game’s success led to spinoffs and sequels, including Like a Dragon: Ishin! and Yakuza 0, with a direct sequel titled Yakuza 6: The Song of Life in 2016.
