Netflix fans 'on edge of their seat' watching Women's World Cup docuseries

Netflix is well known for its immersive sports documentaries and now the streaming service gives its subscribers a look into the lives of the players taking part in the US Women’s World Cup. Under Pressure: US Women’s World Cup follows the players and coaches in the lead-up to the huge tournament. The women are set on winning the World Cup for a third year in a row, but they face a lot of hardships along the way.

Netflix: Under Pressure US Women’s World Cup release date

The Under Pressure: US Women’s World Cup release date is December 12, 2023.

Netflix adds the docuseries on Tuesday which is split into four 45-minute episodes.

Episode 1 takes a look at the lead-up to the World Cup as players hope to make the roster. Episode 2 sees the team face some challenges that force them to adapt. The final two episodes see the women in action as they play in the World Cup, as well as the outcome of the 2023 tournament.

Some of the Under Pressure cast are facing pressures and hardships as they compete in the 2023 World Cup. The docuseries also sees some super famous players explain that they’re playing their first World Cup as mothers which comes with its own challenges.

The Netflix series takes an intimate look into the lives of the US team as they “compartmentalize” in order to perform their best. Some have dreamed since their childhood years to make the World Cup team.


Who won the Women’s World Cup 2023?

Although many of the players had their childhood dreams realized by making the World Cup 2023 roster, the US team didn’t manage to win the FIFA tournament overall.

The US team lost to Sweden during a match in Melbourne, Australia which saw them kicked out of the World Cup.

They were hopeful for a third World Cup win, but it was Spain who took the crown In the 2023 competition.
