Dr Pimple Popper finds a 'litter of cyst babies' inside patient's 'bearded' head lumps

Dr Pimple Popper has seen a lot in her time, but Aimee’s head cysts with ‘beards’ may be a first for her. Not only that, she finds a litter of ‘cyst babies’ during the removal of one huge cyst.

As the TLC is off air for another season, we take a look back at some of the best episodes from the show. We’ve taken a look at the time Dr Pimple Popper found ‘cyst babies’ inside one of Aimee’s ‘bearded’ head cysts.

Dr Pimple Popper Aimee has suffered with head cysts since high school

Aimee is now 33, however, has been suffering from huge bumps on her head since high school, which she calls her “hump mohawk.”

At first, the bumps weren’t that big, however, as she’s gotten older, they’ve continued to grow. She says they’ve made her paranoid and are her biggest insecurity.

As she and her boyfriend visit Dr Pimple Popper’s office, they discover they’re pilar cysts. Around the cysts are clusters of curly hairs, Dr Sandra Lee jokes they act like the cysts’ beards, and look just like the patient’s boyfriend.

Coming to her own conclusion, Sandra explains her theory. The cysts push on the hair follicles under the skin, causing them to grow “a little bit funnier.”

All five cysts are different shapes and sizes, but Dr Lee is hoping she can remove them all.

The patient’s biggest cyst contains multiple cyst balls inside

Dr Lee begins the incision of cyst number one, which Aimee has had for six years. Luckily, the first one comes out mega easily.

As she moves on to the bigger ones, Dr Pimple Popper squeezes out a huge amount of yellow content. Another easy removal as she then snips the sac wall out whole.

Everything went swimmingly with the first three cysts, however, the fourth, which has popped before is proving much more difficult.

When opening up the final, Dr Lee calls it “Aimee’s pandora’s box” as she finds multiple cyst balls in there. “That was like a litter of cyst babies,” she jokes.

It’s not the first time the doctor has seen cysts inside a cyst, as she once found one ‘hiding’ inside patient Juan’s neck cyst.

Aimee is overwhelmed with the results

As the operation comes to an end, Aimee calls it “life-changing” to be touching her head with no bumps in the way.

Dr Lee shows the contents removed from the cysts, and the patient is shocked at how huge they are.

She says she’s now free of worry and fear and feels like she can do “pretty much anything” now.

Eight weeks later, Aimee’s scalp looks as good as new, and she’s feeling more happy and confident than ever!
