It feels like forever since 1000-lb Sisters was on our screens. But it seems to have been worth the wait, as we finally see the wrath of Amy Slaton‘s divorce from Michael Halterman. Plus, Tammy Slaton is showing off her post-surgery transformation on TLC for the first time, and she looks great.

1000-lb Sisters season 5 trailer
The dramatic 1000-lb Sisters season 5 trailer is the wildest one yet. The good news is that Tammy has moved back to Kentucky to see her family after having weight loss surgery.
Her sisters, Amanda and Misty, have been seeing Dr. Smith to follow in Tammy’s footsteps. Their brother Chris remarks on how the whole family would have had weight loss surgery if they did it too.
However, there’s a lot of drama. That involves Amy and Michael’s fallout due to her feeling like he doesn’t help and Tammy’s late husband Caleb failing to hit his weight goals while not being approved to leave.
Amy Slaton hits ‘breaking point’
Amy Slaton reveals she’s “hit breaking point” and tells now-ex-husband Michael Halterman to “get out of her house.” During a screaming match, her sister Amanda Halterman tells him to give Amy her money.
During a confessional, Amy says she has “no support” which is why her life is “chaos”. Her sister, who was married to Michael’s brother, tells Amy: “If you don’t fix things, it’s not going to end well for you.”
Amy tells Michael while in tears: “I’m trying to take care of two boys while trying to take care of the house.” Later, Michael, who is a dad to her sons, says he “ain’t giving her ****”.
1000-lb Sisters season 5 release date
The 1000-lb Sisters season 5 release date is Tuesday, December 12 at 9/8C. The season was filmed several months before it came out, earlier this year. Caleb Willingham, who is on season 5, sadly died in July.
Another big life change hit the family when Amy’s now ex-husband Michael filed for divorce early in the year. Amy and Tammy allegedly got into a physical altercation which halted filming in the summer of 2023.
Filming resumed in October 2023, as reported by Monsters and Critics. Tammy shared on TikTok that the family was filming the “second half” of 1000-lb Sisters season 4 to be used as season 5.
