Photo Of Man Who Was Nabbed For Stealing Laptop From Shop In Jigawa While Pretending To Charge His Phone

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, October 20, 2023, said the suspect went into the shop on pretence of charging his phone and to print out photos.

A man identified as Mustapha Abdullah, has been arrested by operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command.

The man was nabbed for stealing a laptop from a photography shop in Kazaure Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, October 20, 2023, said the suspect went into the shop on pretence of charging his phone and to print out photos. 

The suspect was arrested following a complaint made by the shop owner.

“On 19/10/23 at about 1130hrs, one Basil Ukwuoma ‘m’ 48yrs of Kanti quarters Kazaure LGA, reported at Kazaure Police station, that on the same date at about 1100hrs, when he was in his photography shop, one Mustapha Abdullahi ‘m’ 20yrs of Kankara LGA of Katsina state came to the shop with pretence to charge his phone and printout photographs,” the statement read. 

“After he left, the complainant discovered that his Toshiba Laptop valued at seventy thousand naira (₦70,000.00k) was missing. On receipt of the report, information was disseminated to Patrol men

“Fortunately, the said Mustapha Abdullahi was arrested in possession of the stolen Laptop in his bag alongside three phones; a Techno, Infinix, and Hawaii products

“When questioned, the suspect could not give a satisfactory account of the laptop and the phones

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime alleged against him 

“The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation to face the law.”
