What happened to Daniel in Reservation Dogs?

Four children struggling with grief, grief, and a strong desire to leave the reservation and move to California are the subjects of Hulu’s “Reservation Dogs,” a drama series. It is repeatedly implied that the loss of her boyfriend Daniel played a significant role in her decision to leave. He originally proposed the idea, and now they’re just going ahead with his request. The fact that Daniel’s death was caused by the city also fuels their desire. They don’t want the same thing to happen to them because it ate him up.

Daniel is a constant in the life of the reserve dogs, although he passed away before the episode’s events. While the show doesn’t directly address Daniel’s predicament or what happened in his life before his death, it does leave some clues. This happened to him. spoilers to follow.


How did Daniel die?

Daniel’s absence serves as a spark for the beginning of the storyline in Reservation Dogs, but the exact circumstances of his death will be revealed in the seventh episode of Season 1. From the start it was clear that Daniel was the center of the group. and it still serves as the glue that holds them together. However, he had personally gone through some really difficult circumstances. The circumstance in his house is where it all begins. Though it’s not specifically said, it’s clear that his parents don’t get along. Daniel spends most of his time at his uncle Leon’s house because it seems like they fight all the time and there is so much going on at home.

He likes to spend the day outside with his friends or at Willie Jack’s, but when night falls he has to return home. He begins to fear it so much that he is willing to do anything to not go home, regardless of the consequences. In order to keep him company for as long as possible, Elora senses his discomfort. In the eighth episode, she stays with him even though the others go home. She takes him to the dance, where he briefly feels better. But soon she, too, has to return home, and then Daniel becomes irritable.


He makes the decision to move on after Elora leaves. She doesn’t see him until the next morning, but what happened in Episode 6 helps her piece together the rest of his journey. Willie Jack and Leon talk about Daniel while hunting. As it turns out, Leon was actually the last person to see him alive. He tried to be there for Daniel as much as possible, even though he knew it was difficult for him, but when Daniel died he wondered if he could have done more. He’s still wracked with guilt.

Daniel sets off after breaking his agreement with Elora to travel to California together and eventually finds himself outside Leon’s house where he has been busy with some other things. Leon is unaware that Daniel is asking for help when he asks if he needs help. Since it is already too late for him to roam the streets, Leon decides to send him home out of concern for his well-being. He later learns that Daniel was never able to return home. He went to their normal hiding place and committed suicide, which Elora found out the next morning.
