What was the Lil Tecca death news circulated online?

The original source of the Tecca death rumor is still unknown, but as of August 2, 2022, numerous social media posts included a news article with the headline, “Rapper Lil Tecca was shot and killed.”

Some media sites discovered that the rumor came from a website called Trend News, which published an identical report but included the following disclaimer:

“This website is satirical. Look at it lightly. That’s a joke.”

According to the news report, Tecca was shot at his home and suffered three gunshot wounds before dying. According to witnesses, the shooter was tall, drove a black Tesla and wore a black hoodie and black sketchers, the article continues.
