Ah-lulbayt forum condemns demolitions in Kaduna

The Ah-lulbayt Political Forum, Kaduna state chapter, has thrown its weight behind other civil society groups expressing deep concerns over the ongoing demolition exercise by the Kaduna state government on structures belonging to IMN in some communities.

This was contained in a statement signed during the week, by the secretary of the forum, Sulaiman Muhammad. 

He said, “It is indeed untimely as this may truncate the relative peace the state is enjoying, especially as we are heading to a smooth transition of power to another democratically elected government.”

The statement called on the state government to “respect and protect the lives and properties of its citizens irrespective of their political or religious affiliation as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We also call on the affected parties to express decorum and not to take laws into their hands and seek redress within the ambit of the law.

“Finally, we are appealing to the incoming administration to explore conflict resolution mechanisms, especially dialogue and empathy in resolving issues of this nature,” the statement added.
