Nice start to the weekend, but more stormy days ahead

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Sunny and dry weather is back on Saturday, but don’t get used to it…more rain is on the cards towards the end of the weekend and through much of next week. The threat of severe weather could also return for parts of the ArkLaTex.

Individual showers and storms will fade overnight. We will see clearing in many parts of the area. Temperatures will settle back into the 50s in most places, with some staying in the 60s in the south and some cooler 40s in the far north.

The weekend begins on Saturday with sunshine and pleasant temperatures. We warm up into the 70s to about 80 for highs.

Clouds will return on Sunday, but most of the day will remain dry. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to return in the late afternoon and last into the evening hours. The chance of severe weather looks low, but a few storms can bring hail. Temperatures before any rain on Sunday will warm up again in the upper 70s to almost 80 for highs.

We’ll come back to dry weather briefly early next week. Temperatures will also rise to get back into the upper 80s on Monday and Tuesday. Some showers and storms will return to parts of the ArkLaTex Tuesday afternoon, along with the possibility of severe weather in the north.

The rest of the week looks wet with the occasional shower and storm. Rain totals could total between 3 and 5 inches across the area by the end of next week. Temperatures at the end of the week will be slightly cooler, dropping back into the 60’s to around 70 for highs.
