After Jasmine Carson’s breakout from the substitutes’ bench at Sunday’s NCAA championship game, a night of celebration, a whirlwind trip back to Baton Rouge (including a police escort to Pete Maravich’s convention center), the glitz, lights and glamor didn’t matter how she went with the rest of the team to get her luggage from the team bus.
“I haven’t picked it all up yet,” said Carson, who came off the bench and scored 21 points in the first half as three LSU starters struggled. “I’m so happy for my team.”

Carson said she knew by halftime that LSU was going to win.
“I said it was over then. We had games like Tennessee where they came back,” she said, “but somehow I knew the ring was ours.”
Carson said the next thing on her agenda is to get some rest and talk to her agent. She makes big plans for her future.
“As an entrepreneur, I have to make decisions,” Carson said.
She’s keeping details under wraps, but she plans to go to Atlanta and work in the real estate world.

In the meantime, Fla’jae Johnson was strolling alongside an empty bus with the team’s luggage and carrying a gold basketball under his arm as Angel Reese walked past with a double armload of flowers.
Johnson said she didn’t sleep last night.
“I feel good — like a champ,” said the newcomer rap star.
On your agenda?
“Sleep first. Then we party all week,” Johnson said.
