Ricardo Juarez — who was bulldozed by security last week after an on-field proposal attempt — got some salt added to the wound.
In the aftermath of the viral moment, the Los Angeles baseball fan has been banned from Dodger Stadium for an entire year.
“He’s banned from the Dodgers’ stadium for a year,” his fiancee Ramona Saavedra told TMZ. “But, I mean, he’ll live right?”
Saavedra did say “yes” at least, so it turned out to be well worth it for Juarez.
With the rest of his summer free from attending Dodgers games, Juarez can at least get a head start on planning the nuptials with Saavedra.
“We are pushing for August the fifth which is my birthday,” she responded when asked about the wedding plans. “… We’ve been getting a lot of good feedback, and a lot of people offering to do our engagement pictures, the hall, the DJ, haircuts, so that’s really cool.”
As it turns out, the initial plan was to ask Saavedra in the stands, but the moment got him so amped that he decided to jump onto the field.
“The build was just so close that he couldn’t resist it,” Saavedra said. “He always tries to do everything with a lot of love … he shows a lot of effort, I mean, I never thought he would show this much effort.”
Juarez says he was expecting security to step in and escort him off the the field, but getting pummeled was a surprise — and left him with some battle scars.
“I actually had to take him into the ER on Saturday because he could not get out of bed,” his fiancée added. “The doctors said it was just bruising from the impact, he should be fine in a couple of days.”
