Gunmen have abducted a prominent ruler from his palace in Plateau State.
POLITICS NIGERIA learnt that the victim of this latest attack is His Royal Highness Sunday Dajep, the district head of the Chip community. The Chip community is home to the Mhiship ethnic group and is located in the Pankshin Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred at approximately 11 pm on Wednesday, when the gunmen forcefully entered the palace in Chip community along the Mangu-Shendam road.
The kidnappers kidnapped the district head, adding to the growing list of abductions in the region.
According to the police public relations officer of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, the command was aware of the abduction.
Alubo said, “Men of the command has been on the trail of the gunmen. We launched a manhunt for the gunmen as soon as we got the distress call.”
The security situation in Plateau State has been a cause for concern in recent times, with a rise in incidents of kidnapping, banditry, and other forms of criminal activity.
