B3 releases comprehensive production water platform for Louisiana

(WO) – B3 Insight releases a first-of-its-kind water data platform for Louisiana. This platform includes freshwater and produced water data, injection and land data, as well as Louisiana-specific strata such as reserve pits, offshore blocks, and wildlife management areas.

It is now available through B3’s OilfieldH2O platform, complementing existing products for Texas, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Wyoming. B3’s OilfieldH2O Louisiana offering allows users to visualize and understand the entire journey of produced water from production to disposal.

“This new release incorporates our proprietary, unified data model and provides users with powerful tools for oilfield water management,” said Kelly Bennett, CEO of B3 Insight. “B3’s new Louisiana platform will enable operators and midstream service providers to make more informed decisions and optimize their water management, reducing costs and environmental risks while improving efficiencies.”

Louisiana’s unique physical landscape and digital data access methods present a complex challenge for oilfield water management, which is why comprehensive and reliable data is essential. B3’s newly released platform addresses this challenge by integrating disparate data sources to create a rich database that links water, land and infrastructure, enabling users to streamline their water logistics and reduce costs.

The Louisiana platform includes over 10,000 injection wells with injection volume and pressure history that users can filter by injection type, status, operator and more. The platform also offers a complete dataset of freshwater wells with over 200,000 wells sortable by aquifer, well usage, status and more.

In addition, the Louisiana platform contains over 2.5 million land parcel records—which are difficult to find and compile—as well as a comprehensive manufacturing site record with historical water delivery records that indicate the amount of water delivered from manufacturing sites to disposal wells, combined with truck ratings, routing and emissions calculations from B3.
