Exhibition “Art and Addiction”.

The West Baton Rouge Museum, 845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen, opens artist Ben Peabody’s exhibition “Art & Addiction: The Art of Ben Peabody” on Saturday, April 15 with a complimentary reception from 6:00 p.m to 20:00 The impressive exhibition is packed with important messages, all delivered in a lively carnival setting. Real Life Experience

The annual Real-Life Experience Juried High School Exhibition, featuring more than 50 original pieces of art created by students from East Baton Rouge Parish public and private high schools, runs through Thursday, April 27 at the Baton Rouge Gallery, 1515 Dalrymple Drive. Exhibition “Common Ground”.

The exhibition, Common Ground: Artists Inspired by Place, opens with a reception on Saturday, April 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Glide Studios Lafayette, 715 Lee Ave., Lafayette. The show, hosted by Harold Bernard, is a cultural celebration of the arts, featuring works by seven artists from southern Louisiana. It will be on view in downtown Lafayette during the Festival International de Louisiane. “Krap’s Last Tape”

Tony E. Medlin, Professor of Theater Arts at Baton Rouge Community College, will join the Irish Club of Baton Rouge at Thursday’s 27 Magnolia Performing Arts Pavilion’s Black Box Theater on Mid City Campus, 201 Community College Dr. The 1958 play is directed by composer and producer Brian Breen. The Twin Steeples Creative Arts Center, 220 E. Oak St., Ponchatoula is showing “Art in April” through Friday, April 28th. The exhibition features works by painters Renee Mitchell, Joseph Deffes and jeweler Lisa Normand. The opening times of the gallery are Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The center is hosting a painting party for children of all ages on Saturday, April 8th from 10:30am to 12:00pm.
