Family And Early Life Details of Innocent
Vareed Thekkethala and Margaret had Innocent on February 28, 1948, in Irinjalakuda, Travancore-Cochin (now Kerala), India. He is the third son and the fifth child of his parents, who had eight kids overall.
He had primary education at Little Flower Convent Higher Secondary School, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, and Sree Sangameswara NSS School in Irinjalakuda.
He continued to study till the eighth grade before giving up because he could not handle it. For his acting career, Innocent moved to Madras (at the time).
While there, he worked as a production Executive and appeared in a supporting part in one of his previous films, Nellu.
In the 1970s, he became unwell and traveled to Davangere for typhoid treatment, where his cousins George (a medical student at JJM Medical College), Davis, and his brother Sunny ran the Shamannur Match factory.
Later, he participated actively in the operation of the plant. Innocent, passionate about performing, jumped to participate in the Kerala Samajam Drama Davangere and won the audience’s favor.
Political Career of Innocent
During the 1970s, Innocent served as the Revolutionary Socialist Party’s Thrissur District Secretary.
As a candidate endorsed by the Revolutionary Socialist Party, he ran for the Irinjalakkuda municipal council in 1979 and won.
He was rumored to run as an independent in the 2006 Kerala Legislative Assembly elections from the Irinjalakkuda assembly constituency with support from the Left Democratic Front (LDF), but this did not occur.
Innocent, an independent candidate backed by the LDF, won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from the Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency in the Thrissur district.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, UDF candidate Benny Behanan defeated him.
