D.J. Hernandez, the older brother of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, was recently arrested. According to TMZ, Hernandez was detained last week for reportedly throwing bricks at ESPN’s headquarters with a note attached to it.
The incident occurred on March 23 at about 3 p.m. at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut. A security guard at the scene was certain that the individual who hurled the brick was Aaron Hernandez’s brother D.J. Hernandez.
The note attached to the brick written by D.J. Hernandez contained this:
“To all media outlets, It’s about time you all realize the affect media has on all family members. Since you’re a worldwide leader maybe you could lead how media and messages are delivered brick by brick. Clean it up!”
Hernandez was detained for a misdemeanor breach of peace but was later released after promising to appear in court next month. Officers also informed D.J. Hernandez that he was no longer permitted on ESPN’s premises and would be arrested for trespassing if he was found there.
As per TMZ, Terri Hernandez, D.J.’s mother, told police that her son had been acting strangely and that he needed to be assessed mentally at a hospital.
Furthermore, according to police papers, D.J. was experiencing a bipolar episode and had been driving all over Connecticut seeking to get arrested because he didn’t want to stay at his mother’s house.
So far, the older brother of Aaron Hernandez hasn’t made any public statements regarding it, but he hasn’t resented any efforts made by the cops in the legal proceedings.

The life of Aaron Hernandez is one that cannot be compared to any other. Nobody has ever witnessed anything quite like it: from being one of the top tight ends in the National Football League and playing with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, to being convicted of numerous murders.
In 2013, authorities arrested Aaron Hernandez for the murder of Odin Lloyd, and the New England Patriots immediately released him after the charges were brought against him. In 2017, Hernandez, who was 27 years old at the time, committed suicide in his cell at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center.
Hernandez’s family is still dealing with the trauma caused by the decisions made by the former Patriots tight end. His brother was recently arrested for doing something he thought would help his family.
