WATCH: Man arrested trying to sneak into LG Chairman’s office with BVAS

A man was arrested on Saturday morning in Abia State while reportedly trying to sneak into the Umuahia South Local Government Area (LGA) Chairman’s office with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the BVAS machine is a device used for the accreditation of voters through biometric capture, uploading of polling results and other functions. It was introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a solution to the inadequacies of the card readers used in previous elections.

The man’s exact mission is not immediately known.
