Once Upon a Small Town is a romantic comedy and drama television series produced in South Korea and directed by Kwon Seok-jang. The series stars Choo Yeong-woo, Park Soo-young, Baek Sung-chul and Jung Suk-yong, along with a host of other actors and actresses. The seventh episode of Once Upon a Small Town lasts a total of 37 minutes.

The seventh episode of Once Upon a Small Town begins with Ji-yul and Ja-young facing each other next to the river where they previously played time together. Things are different for Ji-yul now that he is in possession of new facts about their connection; As a result, he doesn’t know how to approach Ja-young.
Even Ja-young has a lot to think about, and as Ja manager Young points out, it’s obvious she’s struggling with something; the question is, what is that?
However, all this can be put on hold because a little rabbit is very sick and his owner is also very upset that the rabbit will die soon. However, Ji-yul is optimistic that something can definitely be done with it. Because at the end of the day, a little love and care along with some fluids administered through IV can make just about anything better.
When he realizes that young Hui-won and Seon-dong are at odds over a girl she gave him, another problem arises. This time it’s up to the girl. Hearing him say something so mature despite his young age gives Ji-yul an idea of what to do with his own relationship, which is similar to the position he’s in, which is a reflection of his own.
Unfortunately, he recommends giving Hui-won some time, which is also the course of action he seems to be doing for himself. This doesn’t go down well, and when Ja-young later sees Seon-dong, Seon-dong tells her with a sad face that Hui-won won’t even acknowledge his presence anymore. Ja-young is disappointed to hear that. The young man is instructed by Ja-young to simply apologize for his transgressions and sincerely express his remorse. Seon-dong has given his word that he will experiment with it as well.
Unfortunately, this plan doesn’t work out either and Seon-dong ends sobbing in front of Ji-yul. Ji-yul, now irritated by Ja-Rat, tells Young to Seon-dong to just wait and see how Hui-won reacts and just give her some space in the meantime. Given that Ja-young has never seriously dated anyone, Seon-dong relents and does as he asks.
Later that same day, Ji-yul runs into Ja-young while visiting someone else. She thanks him for his help during the accident, although the atmosphere is a bit uncomfortable and uneasy. Both Ji-yul and Sang-hyeon take the children’s situation as deeply personal; However, just as Ji-yul is ready to broach the subject, Sang-hyeon walks in and doesn’t even recognize his presence, essentially putting an end to this discussion.
After some time, Sang-hyeon inquires about Ja-yul’s connection to Ji-yul, and she will reveal that he finally remembers her. Despite this, she has decided that she won’t riot anymore because Ji-yul will be leaving soon anyway. No matter what happens, Sang-hyeon will eventually leave Seoul, but not before urging Ja-young to behave.
Meanwhile, Ji-yul is discussing his problem with a friend, and after hearing what his friend has to say, Ji-yul is a little confused. Still, this discussion becomes pointless when Yun-hyeong starts questioning him about whether or not Ja-young has become more attractive and whether or not he sees her differently now that he remembers her.
Unfortunately, Seon-dong seems to have taken Ji-advise yul a bit too literally, because he texted Hui-won something cryptic and can’t be located at the moment. He makes his way to the police station to find the boy as soon as possible. As the news airs, Ja-young and Ji-yul walk the alleys to find out where Seon-dong escaped to. During this time, Ja-young is furious because her childhood friend gave inappropriate advice to a teenager.
Apologies and relationships are the topics of discussion in this rather intriguing conversation between the two. Ji-yul asks him if the apology should have been more sincere, and they both accept that they were both correct in a way. Both express their points of view, both of which make sense somehow, but at the end Ji-yul asks him if the apology should have been more sincere.
Ji-yul and Ja-young have a cute moment where she reveals that she was worried about Ja-young too, but she masked her fear by saying she was more worried about the missing boy. Anyway, when they reach Seon-dong, he’s sitting all alone at the bus stop, and just imagining that Hui-won got over their argument brings a smile to his face.
The conclusion of Once Upon a Time in a Small Town Episode 7
As Ja-young and Ji-yul drive home, they continue to look at each other in the rearview mirror while reflecting on his confession from earlier that day next to the river. Truth be told, Ja-young does an excellent job of handling the awkwardness while remaining reserved and quiet in typical Ji-yul fashion. Ji-yul, on the other hand, finds it quite an intriguing throwback, as evidenced by the fact that she giggles while Ja-young drives Seon-dong to his house.
Once outside, Ji-yul admitted that she was the only positive memory of that year, and he deeply apologized for not remembering her earlier. He said that she was the only pleasant memory of that year. It seems Ja-young has run out of words for the first time, and grabbing his arm probably doesn’t help.
Review of Once Upon a Time in a Small Town Episode 7
Another episode like this shows what an enjoyable and easygoing show to watch overall. It was also interesting to see how Seon-dong and Hui-won’s problems carry over to the adults’ problems. It’s fascinating to think about how the answer lies somewhere in between their two perspectives.
On the other hand, I’m wondering here whether Hui-Rabbit has gotten better or not.
Whatever the case, Seong-hyeon’s absence in tonight’s episode made for an enjoyable and hassle-free viewing experience, giving the main characters a chance to solve their problems on their own. It’s fun to watch Ja-young make her own decisions without being swayed by Seong Hyeon’s expectations that she behave in a certain way. If I’m being completely honest I have to say that they really played around with his personality to the point where he comes across as pretty evil and a bit domineering.
Anyway, as I’ve hinted at, this is a straightforward episode that has wonderful visual style and is humorous in its own unique way.

In August 2021, Choi Soo-young and Jang Keun-suk became the first two actors offered the lead roles in the series. It wasn’t until later in September 2021 that it was discovered that it didn’t really work. Choo Young-woo was cast to play Han Ji-yul, a Seoul resident who works as a veterinarian, and Park Soo-young was cast to play Ahn Ja-young, a local police officer. Both roles were confirmed for the series in May 2022. Later in May, Baek Seong-cheol joined the cast as Lee Sang-hyeon, a handsome young farmer.
Because the series was filmed in a rural setting and animals were involved, the production team took precautions to ensure everyone’s safety throughout the process, from scripting to actual filming. They did this with the support of veterinarians. The entire shooting with animal participation took place in the company of a trained veterinarian and an experienced animal caretaker. “All props that come into contact with animals were specially made of silicone for safety reasons and everything that could be dangerous was excluded as much as possible,” according to the production crew.
