Two homers in the second inning got the offense going in Friday’s win at Baum Walker Stadium.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas No. 8 took an early lead thanks to two home runs in the second inning to win 7-4 in Friday’s opener of the series at Baum Walker Stadium.
The Razorbacks (11-2) got another solid starter from Hagen Smith (3-0). Smith didn’t allow a hit in his first four innings and allowed just two runs in a total of five innings of work while hitting seven Bulldog batters.
Smith got most of his running support early on when Arkansas hit two two-run home runs in the second inning.
Jace Bohrofen continued his hot start to the season by opening the scoring with a double home run to right field. Bohrofen’s batting average is now .462 for the season.

Later in the inning, catcher Parker Rowland doubled the lead and hit a two-run home run into midfield.
Arkansas loaded the bases in the third with no outs but collected just one run, which saw Kendall Diggs hit a fielder choice.
Louisiana Tech pulled back two runs in the fifth with a 2-RBI single to the right of Dalto Davis with loaded bases.
Diggs added a sac fly in the bottom half of the inning, but the Bulldogs crept a little closer with a two-run homer from Karson Evans in the sixth to put them 6-4.
However, a sack fly from Peyton Stovall added an extra insurance run in the seventh. On the mound, Dylan Carter was relieved, throwing three innings scoreless with two strikeouts and allowing just one hit to make the save.
The Hogs face the Bulldogs again on Saturday at 2 p.m
